Tour de ScanCom – Cycle for Charity to improve the Cycle of Poverty

ScanCom is very pleased to announce details of an exciting new CSR initiative – Tour de ScanCom - that will see us join forces with selected customers and external stakeholders to raise funds for, and awareness of, the charity organizations we support in Vietnam and the rest of the world.

The inaugural Tour de ScanCom will take place between 23rd and 25th April 2018 in Mallorca and aims to raise $4,000 through a group of fundraisers cycling to a height of 4,000m in the beautiful surroundings of the island. The funds raised will be used to support a charitable project in Vietnam that we are involved in by way of our cooperation with Passion4Life (www.p4l.dk) and Make A Small Difference (MASD) (http://www.make-a-small-difference.com).

We’re hoping that bringing such a diverse group of enthusiastic cyclists together will help us achieve our charitable aims and spread the word about the excellent work our charity partners are doing. Additionally, we’re hoping the camaraderie and close relationships that will develop over the challenging 3-day ride will facilitate interaction that raises awareness and understanding of the business and social aspects of operating in Vietnam, where our main production facility is located.

ScanCom’s success is built upon ScanCom people – our employees – and we know that staff often come from local communities that desperately need help and assistance of all kinds. Our aim is to help others to help themselves because we know that not everybody is equally fortunate.

CSR is part of our corporate DNA because we understand the importance of making valuable contributions to those who really need it. It is an integral part of our daily operations and informs the way we conduct our business globally. As part of our ongoing commitment to Doing Business the Right Way – the ScanCom Way, we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the communities in which our operations exist.
